A written appraisal documents what a piece is and what it is worth, in a form insurers and courts accept.
A written certificate describing the piece in detail: metal and karat, stone weights and grades, measurements, condition, and the appraised value for the stated purpose. It is prepared by a master jeweler and is accepted by all major insurance carriers.
This is worth being clear about. An appraisal for insurance reflects what it would cost to replace a piece at retail. That figure is normally higher than what any buyer, including us, would pay to purchase it outright. Both numbers are honest. They answer different questions. If what you actually want is a purchase offer, our evaluation is free and takes minutes.
Bring the piece in during business hours. For straightforward items we can often evaluate while you wait. More complex pieces, large collections, and estates take longer, and we will tell you up front what to expect. Nothing leaves the premises.
See what to bring, including any certificates or prior paperwork you may already have.
Alongside appraisals we handle repairs and restoration, same day ring resizing, watch batteries, rhodium plating, stone setting, soldering, and custom design, all in house.
No appointment needed. We evaluate in front of you and pay the same day.
